Summary: Wilson has to do a freebie because of a mix up with a race horse. House is just getting back into the game and Cuddy finds both these ghosts from the past showing up at the same time. Things get complicated with two FBI agents are thrown into the mix and Chase finally gets a solo hit.

"We aren't leaving." Wilson tries his best steely glare and knows that it's failed utterly when House grins and pops a purple sucker in his mouth.

"We can pretend to be a couple. I'll wear loud Hawaiian shirts. You can have the straw tote bag and lisp."

"I am not carrying a straw tote bag."

"So when do we leave?"

"The point is to be inconspicuous. We can't do that if we're together."

House looks at him with big mournful eyes, "Are you still trying to deny our epic romance?"

"House we are not going as a couple and I am not wandering around lisping at people."

"You suck at this."

"We can have the same hotel if you're that desperate for me."

"Did I say that?"

Dark Water takes an interesting turn as a House AU where House and Wilson run a business together--as hit men. With Chase as their somewhat bungling assistant, they're doing well for themselves, until a woman from both their pasts shows up unexpectedly. When Cuddy becomes the target of an assassination plot, delphinapterus's fast-paced, light-hearted story takes off. With banter, hijinks, and a hint of a fusion with Grosse Point Blank, Dark Water is a fun rollercoaster of a story. delphinapterus makes best use of all the characters, including an amusing subplot for Chase, as House and Wilson slowly discover that everything between them and Cuddy is more than what it first seemed--and it has the potential to become something even greater.
